Content Description

This collection primarily consists of photographs from the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC), including images of the founders, Ralph Roskies and Michael Levine, business manger Beverly Clayton, staff members, various machines used by the PSC throughout the years, events, and images used in the science books/magazine. The collection also includes copies of the science books, which are similar to an annual report that document all the various work that was completed at the PSC in a given year, and copies of the PSC newsletter. The Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center was founded in 1986 by Michael Levine, a physicist at Carnegie Mellon University, and Ralph Roskies, a physicist at the University of Pittsburgh, and with the help of James Kasdorf of Westinghouse.
